Selling out (“…is easy to do”) may actually be more difficult, for the reasons suggested in Lex’s “Does Eventful work outside the US?” thread — people who might travel farther to see JoCo’s “historic” London show (when unsure whether it would ever be repeated) now have less motivation to go out of their way. I hope any of y’all in the vicinity of the various shows, and London especially, will find a way to roll out a little publicity. Ah, but whaddaya have when there’s nothing left to sell?
ETA: I have mixed feelings about audience shoutouts — sometimes they cause amazing things to happen (“Sweet Caroline”, for instance), and sometimes they, well, drag the entire show down while making me regret that the shouter-out had ever been born. (Hence my interest in making / acquiring an “IF YOU WERE FUNNY / YOU’D BE ON STAGE” t-shirt.)
