Reply To: My JoCo Music
I own all of the songs available from the JoCo store, except for Washy Ad Jeffy and the Ze Frank covers. There's no particular reason for the omission, which I may fill in one day.
I purchased them through the store, because JoCo is very cool and my enjoyment of his work more than justifies giving him some money in thanks.
My music lives on a small server in my house, and is played over the network (I don't have as many devices hooked into it as I would like, but I intend to expand that one day). Most of it I bought on CD and ripped, except for the JoCo stuff and some things from Magnatune. I therefore have a moderately-sized CD collection which takes up space in my living room, where there's no networked media player. The ripped formats are a bit of a messy mixture of MP3, Ogg Vorbis and FLAC, but they all play on my Rockboxed iPod, so I'm quite happy with that situation.
The only thing wrong with my music collection is that there isn't as much JoCo in it as I would like. I would like to travel into the future and buy all the songs he will ever write, but then if I did that the joy of discovery when he writes a new one would be gone, so perhaps I should refrain from that.
Of course, I don't exactly have a choice at the moment as I am not currently in possession of a time machine more effective than simply going to bed – something I really need to do right now.
