Anyone else have a WTF thought before he dropped the F-bomb?
I did this to my husband, Eric, on purpose. I hoped JoCo would play First of May at the Austin show, so I didn’t play it for my husband or hype it up. Jon played it as the encore, so my husband heard it for the first time after an evening of tame (by comparison) music. He had a puzzled look when the song was announced and the woman in front of us slapped her hands over her older son’s ears. He still looked kind of funny up until Robin Redbreast showed up in the song. Pure devilry would not be an incorrect term for the look on Eric’s face.
That was one of the best moments of the night.
I did something similar to my sister and my cousin’s wife, except I set it up as the prettiest, most romantic song I’d ever heard… They both loved it, and my cousin’s wife took it home to my cousin. She said he laughed his ass off. I’ll have to ask her how she introduced it to him 🙂 (my sister slugged me in the arm, but she does that…)
