Jinx: I didn’t write it with a specific form in mind (well, other than haiku, I guess) — maybe I was hoping it’d be named after me someday. 😉 8-and-6 is ballad meter (compare Reading Gaol); on the other hand, with a little adjustment it might’ve been a rather peevish triolet. The only seven-line stanza form that springs to mind is rhyme royal (at which Chaucer’s nice, but I like Wyatt).
edited to say that even now, a couple of hours later, I’m still pleased by “$1.08” but no happier with “temptation.”
