Investing in game companies is a good idea, especially over a longer run, as long as you keep on top of the news. Buying two weeks before will mean that the ones who've had serious insight have already invested and driven the price up a little. Also you're on the heels of Vista for microsoft(Bungie however, has no such product driving up its prices).
The problem with the gaming world is that you could always run into MoO3. Hyped up game, company with penchant for making games of its type, and then after a great initial sale, the thing drops, and almost no one buys it anymore.
