Definatly gotta have your PTerry (Terry Pratchett), I've read most of his books at least twice, and some now exceeding 10 times (the fact that he has more than 30 should impress, since each is awesome in its own way). Also, Neil Gaimon is an awesome author as well.
For bands, I have to second Tom Smith, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie yet. Both are extremely funny, and Three Dead Trolls has a "Welcome to the Internet Helpdesk" monologue. Also, there's Tom Lehrer for the old-school humor, and Tripod for the Australian humor. Ween is a great band, though I've only heard a limited number of their songs. But has anyone here heard of Ray Stevens? If not, check him out, he's got some great music. And of course you have to have the Weird Al in there for flavor.
Another online game (besides KoL, which is awesome) is OGame (at http://www.ogame.org).
