I started with Gambler's Prayer, which I really liked as a song and it's also quite easy to play if you cheat on all that adim – abdim nonsense.
I play it adim – a – adim – F#m, but if your really lazy you can skip them altogether and just play a – F#m.
And the chord transitions are mostly pretty slow…
Plus its easy to sing…
