A Non-Political Plug

By JoCo February 5, 2008

I can’t make it this year, but I have some musical friends who will be there (and who are on the fund raiser CD). MarsCon: check it! The text below is directly from the (e-)mouth of The Great Luke Ski:

It’s a 2-CD set full live concert tracks from MarsCon 2007 (including Sudden Death, Worm Quartet, the great Luke Ski, Possible Oscar, Rob Balder, Carrie Dahlby, The Gothsicles, Power Salad, Ookla The Mok, Carla Ulbrich, and more) and two new studio bonus tracks by MarsCon 2008 performers PAUL & STORM & Hot Waffles! And when you order the CDs, you also get a link to download the tracks on MP3! The funds raised will go towards the hotel costs of the MarsCon 2008 Dementia Track performers. For the full track listing and ordering info, follow this link!

For more info on the convention and it’s comedy music events, visit http://www.marscon.com, and http://www.marscondementia.com.

Hmmmm. I was undecided as to whether or not I'd go to MarsCon this year cuz it's never as much fun as CONvergence, but if Paul & Storm are going to be there I just might have to go...

Yay! The Gothsicles are the best gothic-industrial-nerdcore-comedy band in the multiverse!

For many years, I've really wanted to like Luke, but I just can't. He isn't funny, his musical talent is questionable at best, and his web page has always looked like it was made by a 13 year old. Maybe I should just keep my mouth shut, because I really don't want to be a jerk, and I always hate to insult another person's livelihood. But I think it's telling that JoCo has been at this a fraction of the time Luke has, and JoCo's by far much more popular among the nerdosphere: JoCo's so good he makes it seem easy, but Luke is so mediocre he makes it seem like hard work.
