ParticipantJinx, I have nothing much pictorial that, used as an icon, would suit me. There’s no particular reason, I guess — just nothing that I’d be particularly inclined to identify myself with, in either sense of the phrase.

ParticipantAh, that’s where I saw the badge. (Figures, since the link Colleen posted to Oded’s pics may be some of the only pics of the GAMH show I’ve seen.) You can actually read the badge in pic 78 of 85, which is JoCo with Oded, am I right?

ColleenkyParticipantCorrect. No problem fixing my post. I couldn’t figure out why it was being hinky or how to fix it myself.

ParticipantI can’t come up with a really quick and comprehensible explanation. I guess the idea is that the forum “img” button just wants the location of the image itself, but Picasa’s “Copy this text to embed in webpage” field or whatever already includes all the HTML to display the image, so if you paste the Picasa-provided HTML code into the forum “img” dialog box, the forum dialog box thinks the HTML code is the address of your picture.
(Picasa thinks you’re just going to paste the code directly into… well, basically into the “add your comments” field.)
The more precise I get, the more difficult I am to understand, so I’ll leave off here and hope you’re not too confused. (Perhaps Mark or someone would be so kind as to elucidate?)

ColleenkyParticipantThat’s OK. I think I get it. Basically, if I want to embed an image from Picasa, I should just enter the embed code directly into the comment and only use the “img” button for a direct link to an image, right?

ParticipantYeah, that’s it exactly, Colleen. 🙂

GinaParticipantHey! So, Sporksmith, you made that fantastic “I Feel Fantastic” video. I saw you come in and thought, “That guy looks so familiar.” It was nice to see you even though we didn’t meet. I loved your video!

A bit of “Hey Jude”My camera doesn’t produce the greatest quality videos in the world, but I get by. I also filmed Still Alive for the sake of all of my CIT class/video game club buddies back here in Roanoke (curse my unsteady hands; they make for rotten zoomed-in shots).

ParticipantFriday night was the best time I have had in a long time. We had never heard Paul and Storm in concert before – and they were wonderful!!!! Added bonus – now we're fans of theirs too.
We got there late – stupid GPS took us the long way in to Alexandria and what should have been a 1 hour trip ended up taking us 2. I don't think the rain helped. We got there so late we weren't even sure we would find a place to sit – there were 5 of us and all of the tables were packed. We asked 2 tables, both told us they had other people coming… at the third table we asked we found respite – We sat with a handicapped gentleman (he had a Mickey Mouse bag? sorry, I wish I had a better description.. I know he was wearing glasses) and his date who was wearing pink (I think) and a female friend of theirs… I never caught any of their names. I wish I had. They were very kind to share their table and very friendly and kind. He was a fan of Paul and Storms and thought it was great the way we all reacted to their songs (since we had never heard them I think our faces lit up with every song). I know he taped some of the show (With JoCo's permission) but don't know what he taped or if he will post.
We had a gopher at our table (now I think that was thanks to Jinx) which my daughter threw at the appropriate time but ended up missing the stage and hitting someone in the head a few tables in front of us (oops and sorry to whomever that was!!).
Jinx I looked for you but never was sure if I saw you. Sorry I missed you!! I like the name tag idea for next time… would love to meet some people from the board at the next show. I cannot believe how many people were there – it was packed and it made for a wonderful time with everyone singing and playing along.
I got some pictures of a half-pony, half-monkey monster someone had brought at a table near the stage; a pic or two of the pile of plushies; some of the concert itself and wonderful pics with Jon and with Paul and Storm after the show. A good time was had by all… can't wait for the next show!!

ParticipantJust got back to Pittsburgh, where apparently my furnace decided to stop working :/
Gina – thanks! Good job with chiron beta prime!
laurelli2 – Heh, I got hit in the head with a stuffed animal. I tried to find it to toss it up onto the stage but couldn’t find it in the dark. No harm done – I just hope JoCo never writes a hit song about bricks 😉
Name tags with forum-names seem like a fine idea. Simple ‘my name is’ stickers would do the trick.

ParticipantLori!! There you are! I’m so sorry we failed to cross paths. Where in the room were you sitting? We ended up on the aisle up to the right, in front — near where the performer entranceway was.
Was JoCo’s set the way you expected to be? And did you hear the songs you hoped to hear? Tell me what you and your daughters thought of his performance.

ParticipantJinx!!
Well we ended up sitting close to you but further back. We were on the right side of the building, near the performers entrance near the railing, probably 5 tables back and next to where you could cut in on the right to access those tables (if that makes any sense at all!).
Were you at the table where the half/pony half/monkey monster was being passed around – the really elaborate one with the purple plastic monkey head was sewn to the tail of the pony? If so, I was the one who got up, walked over and asked if I could take a picture. It was at the table on the floor in front of the stage – on the very right of the stage – near the performers entrance.
The only song he didn't play that I wish he did was Tom Cruise Crazy. Don't know why; just had a hankerin' to hear that one Friday night.
My girls, my girlfriend and her daughter were blown away. We all agreed that was the best time any of us has had in a long time and wished it could have lasted a couple more nights… lol We all fell in love with Paul and Storm too, so now we have a reason to go back and see them as well. We were all total geeks after the show – had JoCo and Paul and Storm sign stuff and had our pictures taken with all of them.
Loved the music, loved the show.. we are planning on going back to whatever shows we can in the immediate area – being VA, MD, PA – lol – next show he does. So we had a great time.
Was the show enjoyable for you – I know you have been before. How did the crowds compare to shows you you have been to in the past?
