Happy FOM
If you are an aspiring internet superstar I highly recommend you write a song about a particular day of the year. That way, at least once a year your technorati ranking will skyrocket. The internet celebrates in these ways:
Paul of ADDCast sends this cover of First of May, featuring an all-star cast of podcasters trading off lines “band-aid” style in support of the Joe Murphy Memorial Fund.
Today on the FuMP you’ll find a live version of First of May as performed by me with Paul and Storm when we were at the Cutting Room in NYC last month.
And while this is not First of May related, I can’t help myself. The top featured video on YouTube today is this new (to me at least) Code Monkey video. Wait for the Darth Vader dance…

Happy FOM. Going comando today just in case. Best to be prepared for anything. Although it’s a little chilly.
Imagine my bitter disappointment that FuMP did not stand for First uv May Project.

I would love to see a work-safe version of this, backward-masked like Mandelbrot Set, just to see if it still made sense.
I think it would be either 1. hilarious or 2. completely confusing. Either way, it would be entertaining. But then again, I’m easily amused.

I’ve been waiting all day, “OMG! There’s STILL no FOM post???”

Who is the woman who sings most frequently in this ADDcast cover? She’s got a beautiful voice?

I really likes that First Of May – Joe Murphy mix. But at the end of the song it says that it is lisenced by Creative Commons – Atribution – No Derivatives. Isn’t all your stuff Share-Alike? And don’t they have to keep the licensing the same?

I just saw the code monkey video on YouTube and then went looking for your site. Great song! Genius.

Oops, my bad, of course I meant backward masked like Code Money — don’t know what I was thinking. Probably laughing too hard from reading the lyrics.

I was going through some old stuff and found that you posted your Thing A Week challenge on The First of May 2005.
“Part of me is sure this is exactly the right thing to do, while the rest of me is screaming that this is probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever done. Time will tell. Right now all I can do is try not to panic.
There: now it’s real because it’s on the internet”
Time has told. You are a soft rock god. Happy official internet artist 2nd anniversary.

@Gregg: Technically yes, but I’m not going to quibble.

Mikus – That’s the lovely and talented Heather Welliver with the great pipes. In addition, I highly recommend Podcasting’s Rich Sigfrid’s outtakes as well (you may want to have some oxygen handy to breathe while you’re rolling on the floor laughing uncontrollably).
