Some podcasters have gotten together and organized a show of strength (hopefully) they’re calling “Bum Rush the Charts.” On March 22nd, they’re urging everyone to go to iTunes and buy the song “Mine Again” by Black Lab, an independent and podsafe band. The idea is to get an indie artist to the top of the iTunes charts. Between this and Gizmodo’s call for a boycott of RIAA music in the month of March, it makes me wonder: when do we get to start smashing and burning things?

That was some kind of crazy thing. Thank you so much to everyone who came out – I think that was the biggest crowd yet. I am continually surprised and delighted to see all of you out there in the audience, and I am very grateful.

Home to NYC tomorrow, and then next week I’m off again to the Aspen comedy festival.

I’ve always said it, even if I haven’t said it out loud to anyone who could hear me. The place was packed with screamy singy people who came to have a good time and act like zombies – thanks everyone for another extremely fun show.

It’s fun when this happens – all these overlapping waves of word-of-mouth and blog/podcast mentions suddenly coalesce into something really big like a Digg story. It was in the top ten for a while there, so my site really got slammed and the database server went down for a while. Last I checked it was all up again, so hopefully it will stay that way. P.S. I am now too famous to play my show tonight at 9 PM at the White Eagle Saloon in Portland (that’s 9 PM, and it’s only $12). Please do not come and bring all your friends. And also, can we please get a date for Glenn? He’s got an extra ticket and everything…
