Actual Footage
Gle3nn (who is different from Glenn, you understand) was at my show at Temple Bar in Santa Monica, and recorded the whole thing. He then painstakingly created separate clips for each song and posted them all on YouTube, in a flagrant violation of my copyright. Kidding! Here they are (note that my real life stage presence is just slightly more dynamic than that of my slumped-over Second Life avatar):
The Future Soon, Skullcrusher Mountain, First of May, Shopvac, I Feel Fantastic, Baby Got Back, Creepy Doll, Big Bad World One, I Crush Everything, Code Monkey, You Ruined Everything, Tom Cruise Crazy, Re: Your Brains

It’s true. And I never poison pigeons in the park, either. Nor have I ever been employed as a coroner.
I loved the real life banter (on video) — and I was especially impressed by how you could slip a count of your mistakes into “I Feel Fantastic”.

Glenn, you are the first person in a thousand that has understood that spelling reference.

Well, it might have taken a while, but I’ve been a long, long time fan of his.

These are excellent. From the man with the monkeys I’m really glad someone caught the show on tape. If there’s any way I could get the original cropped videos from you (Gl3nn)that would be excellent. Drop me an email if you could.

I guess I’ll have to settle with this video morsel to settle my growing hunger for your brains… I mean Things… I mean a real live show. Well done, and thanks for the links. Well worth the price of admission.

WOW, Gle3nn – thanks for all the hard work! The sound is great and it’s really like being right there. I agree that being able to hear the banter between songs adds a lot to the songs; so does being able to hear the reactions of the audience.
JoCo – glad to see you’re feeling better. The joy of YouTube – being able to be seen by your fans in (almost) real time. One of the suggestions on the merch thread was for a tour video – I would definitely take these video postings as proof of concept!

Woot! thanks for the video posts! I enjoy seeing your live performances – you put so much more than just the music into them.
And remember Glenn, Gl3nn, life is like a sewer – you only get out of it what you put into it.

Wait, no fair! The guy’s name wasn’t “Gle3nn”, it was “Hen3ry”! I want another chance to get the reference!
Please note that I am writing this from the Massachusettes State Home For The Bewildered

Sorry, the test is to think outside the bo3.14x.
I know I would definitely buy a professionally done , well lit concert video, I would hope it would be, Jonathan Coulton and the Thingaweek Band. 52 song DVD with commentary and behind the scenes extras. It could happen.

I’m guessing that’s a hat box. Wait — what’s a hat box doing in a sewer?

Fun, fun video! I’m glad to see that Big Bad World One has entered the live lineup.

I love these songs! Jonathan Coultan you are a genius! I bow down to you and your amazing song writing. Scullcrusher Mountain is my new favorite love song.
