No kidding sensuzy, my husband and I have been going around humming ‘all I want to do is eat your brains’ ever since the freakin’ show, and it’s October for cryin’ out loud!

Totally great show, I loved it! As I told JC, we were there for Paul and Storm but he made a couple new fans that night.

I had possibly the best seat in the house, center stage in the front row. I even got to play the ZenDrum! It was a delightful evening out and apparently a desperately needed break, because my jar of coping skills was running low over the weekend and is now Just Fine. I can’t think of a better way to have spent those hours. Thanks to all three of you for a great show and for being so friendly and gracious afterwards as well!

My wife, Laura, introduced me to Jonathan Coulton last year (she first heard him on NPR – ‘Skullcrusher Mountain’, no less).
Since then, we have become huge fans, so much so that we both made video projects for his songs.
Since I’ve performed in cover bands for a long time, I can appreciate a good cover song. My video is a speed-treated mashup of JoCo’s song over Sir MixALot’s video. I made it in the early months of the year and gave it to Coulton at his concert at the Tractor Tavern in Ballard before I uploaded it to the net (and it came down, and it went up again). Thank you so much for the awesome show; it was easily the best show I’ve ever had the pleasure of attending. That’s even going up against fond teenybopper-hazed memories of various boy bands, and there isn’t a whole lot that can clear the teenybopper-haze of yesteryear.

It isn’t every day when you get to act like a zombie at a swank venue like the Triple Door, either. So I thank you for that as well.

Thank you so much for the fantastic show! It’s the first time that I’ve had to explain to my sixth graders that Mr. Bort blew out his voice pretending to be a zombie at a concert. I really enjoyed my first night out in ten days! I got my tonsils removed the previous Friday and I was very excited about being able to attend this concert! However I could not eat or drink much and I was in a ton of pain afterwards… but I don’t care! It was SO worth it!

My family and I will torment that ‘Demon Baby’ relentlessly for the rest of his life… That poor child does not have a chance. The baby is the son of a very good friend of my father, and you could call him my spiritual ‘cousin.’ Not only was the concert good but I have something to tease him about when he becomes old enough to appreciate teasing.

Thank you everyone! For lifting my spirits after a scary painful week and giving us a family story that will last for a long time!

Thanks very much for that fantastic show at the Triple Door.

Hearing Paul and Storm harmonize on your songs was amazing. Having been a long time DaVinci’s Notebook fan, this was a particularly wonderful treat.

Being personally acquainted with the little girl in the front row (and her mom), I can say that you three couldn’t have chosen a sweeter and more charming child as a focus for all the schtick with the twinkies. That whole thing was just hilarious and wonderful. Seeing her outside after the show, she was just beaming from having been the center of attention.

However, you guys may have corrupted her: Those were her very first twinkies, ever.

The little girl’s name is Stormy, by the way, and her mom (who was seated two seats stage left, in the beret) is Angi. In case you were wondering. I can get you their email addresses if you’d like to send the twinkie coupons or something.

We saw Jonathan at PAX (when’s the DVD coming out?), at Bumbershoot (much more intimate, good show), and last night at the Triple Door. I’d have to say that last night was, by far, the best show. I’m sad that we won’t be seeing him back here for a while. *snif*

Funny story though. We were standing out front before the show started and I noticed Jonathan standing about 40 feet away, about to make a phone call. I waved, and my lady turned and waved as well. We had no intention of walking over, as we don’t want to be those kinds of fans. Jonathan looked up, smiled, waved back, and with an expression akin to “Oh shit”, turned and walked the other direction. I’m sure he has plenty of folks crowding him at the “wrong” times, so we totally understood, and actually got a kick out of it.

Then again, the look COULD have been, “Oh shit, it’s THAT guy!” …

The show at Seattle’s Triple Door was one of the best nights of entertainment I’ve been to in Seattle. As enthusiastic as the audience started out, Paul and Storm got them to a higher level and Mr. Coulton surprised them even then.

Mr. Coulton now must decide if this really is a good career choice for the next decade, because it’s his to make.

Mr. Coulton’s performance and charisma on stage are now at that high level where you’re actually slightly disappointed to meet him in person.

Congratulations Messrs. Coulton, Paul and Storm on a fantastic show.

I saw last night’s show as well as the one earlier this year at the Tractor Tavern, and while both shows rocked the socks, I must say it’s a real treat to hear some of those numbers with Paul and Storm acting as back-up. I never thought I’d get to hear the “L.A. face with the Oakland booty” line in a live show unless we sang it ourselves, and then…voila! So tour with them lots, sez I!

(Oh, and as someone who works with pirate-talk on a professional basis–honest–I’d like to say that, despite what P&S would have us believe, “Yarr” is perfectly acceptable pirate-ese, as is “Garr.” It’s one of those things that’s up to the individual pirate.)

Seattle loves JoCo, what can I say!
Paul and Storm were a rollicking good time, as well!

It was my first time at the Triple Door, and I loved it.
My wife, Laura, gave JoCo a copy of her newly-finished flickr-type music video for ‘Creepy Doll’, and it should be posted on YouTube before Tuesday.
We hope Jonathan digs it. We’ll post a link here, once it’s uploaded.
