Did a 20-minute set for an audience of geeky science writers who for the most part had never heard me before.

Guilty as charged...but geeks make excellent diehard fans. :) And you made a whole crop of them - so, nice going.

Also, thanks for the awesome (but too-short) show!

Always a pleasure to be introduced to that kind of crowd.

On the other hand, I'm guessing the less geeky crowds rarely ask you whether you have any songs about "circadian rhythms or skin diseases."

"the mayor of Oxford: a generous host, by all accounts a wise and beloved mayor, and the owner of said bookstore."

Not only is Richard Howorth all this; he also, on occasion, when people say "pretty pretty please," rides mounted at the helm of the town garbage truck during civic parades. For which we the townspeople are grateful.

It was great seeing you in Oxford. I've posted some snapshots on flickr including a view from the aforementioned coffee porch at Square books.

The multifunction room at UNS was indeed crappy, but everyone had a great time. You were much missed in Durham -- a pimpled bagpiper plucked from the audience and sent to play something mournful in the adjoining room isn't really as good as "Big Rock Candy Mountain" for accompanying hobo poetry. Hodgman is certainly a master of improvised audience participation, as the unfortunate woman whose cellphone rang discovered.

Thanks for making it to the Triangle!
