The song reminded me of a Raymond Carver short story. You know something happened, but the song is over before you realize what it is. I don't know who the guy writing the letter is to, so I decided to make it a letter almost to himself...desperate ramblings jotted down on a piece of paper. I had heard Leonard Cohen songs from Coverville, but this song made me go back to his catalog and listen to the original, just to hear if I could cull any more information from his version.
