That might be the creepiest thing I've heard you do. It's so siductively haunting. Beautiful.

Somehow I missed Leonard Cohen entirely, even though I came of age in the 60s. I knew Suzanne, of course, but only the Judy Collins cover. So now I'm sitting here listening thru The Essential leonard Cohen and wondering how I could have been so tuned out. Thanks for the cover; it's opened up a new artist for me.

Cool cover Jonathan...
For those in NYC who want to know even more about Leonard Cohen, "I Am Your Man" which is an award winning docu on Leonard is going up at the Film Forum in late June.

But more on subject, I have to be honest and say I've never liked that song. I don't know why. It's just not my thing. Oh well. You can't please all the people all the time. Unless you surround yourself with suck-ups and yes-men. Hmmm ... that's not a bad idea. Note to self: check the going rate on good lackeys.

Yeah. They're available on Rhapsody too. It's slightly more expensive to buy straight from this site, but at least from here we can be sure the money's going to him and not somebody who doesn't really appreciate it. Call me paranoid, but I like to be sure the people who deserve the money get it.

Like I told my friend the other day: there are very few people in this world who genuinely deserve fame and fortune. Jonathan Coulton is one of those people.

Disclaimer: I have not been brainwashed. I love my job at the planetarium.

Yeah, I didn't know what I was going to do with this one either. The song reminded me of a Raymond Carver short story. You know something happened, but the song is over before you realize what it is. I don't know who the guy writing the letter is to, so I decided to make it a letter almost to himself...desperate ramblings jotted down on a piece of paper.

BTW, thanks for introducing me to more Cohen! I had heard Leonard Cohen songs from Coverville, but this song made me go back to his catalog and listen to the original, just to hear if I could cull any more information from his version.
